The second film in a series supported by HRH Prince Charles about the restoration and continuation of traditional craft -making, focusing on the Lodge and Gardens built by the Emperor Qianlong in Beijing in the late 18th century, which have been sealed off from the public ever since.
The film combines two extraordinary stories; that of the Gardens' original creator and his legacy, and the modern challenge of its restoration - with an elegiac celebration of the beauty of Qianlongs forgotten genius.
